We are a church with representatives from many nations, and we consider it important to reach out to those in need around the globe. These are projects and people we support as a whole church. Many individuals in the church also have a heart for other countries and projects.
We work with a Christian charity called Mercy in Action, which works with the poorest of the poor in the city of Cebu in the Philippines. The charity sponsors children through education and is also involved in many other local projects in partnership with churches and local government in the Philippines.
Current projects include a drop-in centre for kids living on the streets. Here they can get a hot meal, study English and maths to help them back into school, and receive basic medical care. The centre also tries to reunite them with families where possible.
Long-term accommodation is provided for a number of children, with a focus on creating a loving family environment for them.
In July 2012 a team of volunteers from New Life travelled out to Cebu and spent two weeks working with Mercy in Action. In particular, they helped to renovate a house that will provide a home for a small group of boys who are currently living on the streets.

The Eagle Project works to break the destructive cycle of crime and drug abuse among adolescents in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Through a programme of workshops in youth prisons, professional help and family support, the Eagle Project aims to encourage positive choices and reduce the likelihood of re-offending.
We have close relationships with George and Cally Magalhaes, who founded and run The Eagle Project.
Jonathan and Jean Scopes are currently living in Oman. Jean is teaching English, and Jonathan works in the construction industry. While there, they attend, and support the leadership of, the Family of Grace in Muscat, which is part of the newfrontiers family of churches.
