WINTER SHELTER PROJECT

Working with a team of other churches across Milton Keynes, the Winter Shelter Project provides a warm dry bed and hot food throughout the cold weather months of December, January and February. It can, quite literally, be a lifesaver for those who would otherwise be faced with sleeping rough on the streets of our city.

In addition, the project helps people to get off the streets and into longer term or permanent accommodation. During the winter of 2011/12, more than 80 vulnerable people were assisted in this way.

The project is staffed mainly by volunteers. Some spend the whole evening/night at one of the various venues around the city. Others donate two or three hours of their time, perhaps helping to cook dinner or coming in early to cook breakfast. If you’d like to get involved, please get in touch.
