Prayer point: God is a good father. Rather than diving straight in with your requests, ask him what it is that he wants to give to you. Take time to listen to his reply and then be open to receiving from him.
Healing

Jesus took our illnesses and bore our diseases.
Prayer point: Pray for someone you know who needs physical healing today. If you can, let them know you are praying for them.
Salvation in the city

Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest
Prayer point: Ask God to give you an opportunity to tell someone the good news of Jesus today. Pray for those in your circle of influence to encounter God’s love and for them to come into his family.
Persecuted church

Behold I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
Prayer point: Jesus warns us that persecution is an inevitable part of life for his followers. Today pray for the persecuted church around the world. According to Open Doors UK, more than 365 million Christians - that’s 1 in 7 worldwide - suffer serious persecution for following Jesus.

Prayer point: Pray for those who are feeling stressed or exhausted. May they know the peace of Jesus. Take time for yourself to rest in his presence.

You are the salt of the Earth. You are the light of the world.
Prayer point: Ask God to show you fresh ways to be salt and light this year, perhaps in your work place, with your family, or amongst your friends.
Hearing God’s voice

Blessed are your eyes for they see and your ears for they hear.
Prayer point: Ask God to reveal something afresh of his heart to you today. Pray for your eyes and ears to be open to the Holy Spirit in all you do.

They all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over.
Prayer point: Jesus fed thousands of people with five loaves and two fish. Where do you need to see miraculous multiplication? Ask God to give you faith to believe that he can turn a little into a lot through you.
Good news

I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Prayer point: We are the church and we all have a part to play. Today ask God to use you to build his church. Ask him to highlight someone today who needs to hear the good news of Jesus.

Remember the poor

All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.
Prayer point: Pray for those in need. Ask God how you can help. Pray also for our community action projects: Foodbank, Speaking English, Greenleys Community Cafe, etc.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Prayer point: Pray for the nations that are in turmoil. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you in praying for peace in Israel and Gaza, between Russia and the Ukraine, in Sudan and other African nations.

Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.
Prayer point: Pray for the Ignite children and team at New Life Church. Pray also for those in school, both pupils and staff. May they all come to know the truth of Jesus as Saviour.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness
Prayer point: Pray for those in power, both the government in the UK and governments around the world. Pray for Christians in politics to influence things for good.

Do not worry

Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Prayer point: Pray for those who are worried and fearful. Pray that they may know God’s peace.
Justice

But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
Prayer point: Pray for churches in the city to have an increasing positive impact in our city, towns and villages, bringing justice into situations where injustice is taking place.
Provision

Prayer point: God is the provider of all our needs: physical, emotional, spiritual. Pray for someone who needs to know that God can meet their needs today.
Jesus revealed

A voice from heaven said, ‘This is my son with whom I am well pleased’.
Pray point: Pray for Jesus to be revealed to many this year. Pray for someone you know to have a revelation of Jesus and the truth of the gospel.
Hope for eternity

For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
Prayer point: These verses reflect the promises of God. Pray for patience in difficult circumstances and the ability to keep focused on what is to come through Jesus.
An overflow of hope

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer point: As the new year begins we continue with the theme of Hope. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh so you can overflow to everyone you meet in this coming year. Ask for divine appointments with those who feel hopeless so you can point them to Jesus.
